Last month the Youth Sport Trust launched its UK School Games Champion Ambassadors scheme, which will honour, on an annual basis, the outstanding performers from the UK School Games – many of whom will be tipped as competitors at future Olympic and Paralympic Games. We take a closer look at our ambassadors.

Ashlee Nelson has won four UK School Games medals, two in Glasgow and two last year in Coventry, proving that without a doubt she is one of the promising faces of athletics in the country.
The City of Stoke sprinter has already clocked two new Personal Bests this season, running 11.37 secs in the 100m at a meeting in Italy and then earlier in June she recorded 23.46 secs in the 200m in Germany. These results currently see Nelson ranked as the top Under 20 100m sprinter and fourth in the seniors.
Sydney Olympics 400m bronze medallist Katharine Merry, whose UK under-15 girls' 100m record was smashed by Nelson in 2005, has backed the young sprinter from an early sage, saying: "Ashlee knows what it takes not just physically but mentally too, she knows how to keep things in perspective, and is very driven."
As well as a talented sprinter, Nelson is a keen dancer too who loves hip hop and R 'n' B. Her older brother is GB sprinter Alex Nelson who won bronze over the 200m at the World Juniors.
