In our third 'the faces behind the games' we meet West of England Sport Trust Workforce Development Officer Sarah Hawkins.

Do you want to be part of a fun and engaging atmosphere?
Do you want to be a volunteer at the UK School Games 2008?
Plans are now going ahead to find a 250 strong volunteer team of all ages to help deliver the 2008 UK Schools Games in Bristol and Bath.
One of the themes of the UK School Games is to create high quality opportunities for both young people and adults to volunteer at what is a high profile event and also leave behind trained and experienced volunteers within the host city and beyond.
Bath and Bristol are working together to find and train volunteers to provide a range of skills to volunteers which will not only stand them in good stead for the UK School Games but add to their volunteering CV for other events leading up to and beyond London 2012.
All volunteers will be required to attend a minimum of 3 days of the UK School Games from Thursday 28th through to Sunday 31st August and will be required to do the following;
• Attend UKSG’s Volunteer Training for the equivalent of one-day prior to the Games.
• Undertake an Enhanced Criminal Records Bureau Check for over 18s or a reduced screening if you are a younger volunteer.
• Attend the relevant child welfare training for your job.
N.B Volunteers who do not live within the location of the event will be required to source their own accommodation for the duration of the event.
